Neuschwanstein & Munich

We had spent the previous day at BMW World again on the factory tour. Which was very good, if a little tiring, with lots of walking, but the robots were pretty cool, and very clever at what they do. Afterwards spending the afternoon in Munich, with a quick visit to the famous “Munich Hofbraeuhaus”

But we weren’t too impressed with Munich, though the kids did get a Thai foot massage, which I think they enjoyed as it relieved their sore feet from 2 days of walking around.

So as part of our drive back to Düsselorf, we planned a stop at Neuschwanstein Castle, often referred to as the Cinderella Castle.

Jane and Tom decided to walk up from the town below to the castle, whilst Jamie and I took the bus. Think walking was quicker but poor Jamie’s feet were hurting; guess that’s what being flat footed does to you. But we did get a nice view of the town below from the path to the castle. Very picturesque.

Before leaving for our overnight hotel stop in Rothenburg, we had spotted a luge on the hillside, so we all decided a few runs down there might be fun. Was a little slow in comparison to the last time we ran the luge, but that was in Chamonix a few years back. This one was considerably cheaper though.
